Tinfoil Security Update and New Features
By- March 26, 2012
We're excited to announce a few new updates to Tinfoil Security! We've been hard at work fixing bugs and building new features and we hope you like what we've been up to.
The biggest, and potentially most confusing, is a change to our pricing structure. Plans are now per-site rather than per-user. For most of you this will have no change to your monthly bill and things should automatically update. If the change would increase your monthly bill we'll be following up directly to discuss the options.
We've also been working on the scanner, adding some new detections as well as making some of the current detections better. For those of you with larger websites, the new scanner should be able to handle those a lot better. The scan status even has an ETA and a much more accurate percentage (no more getting stuck at 99% running the timing attacks!). While this isn't perfect quite yet, rest assured we're working on it all the time and taking all of your suggestions and requests into account.
For those of you looking to add another site, or those of you new to the service, you now have three methods of domain verification; many of you have asked for this feature, and it's finally here. You are still able to verify via uploading an HTML file, but you can also verify by either adding a META tag to your homepage or adding a TXT record to your DNS settings.
There are a host of other smaller fixes and tweaks as well that have been trickling down into the site and scanner. As always, please feel free to let us know either through email or our support chat (https://www.tinfoilsecurity.com/supportchat) if you run into any problems.
Any feedback, as always, is greatly appreciated. Tell us what you love, what you hate, and how you feel... often. :)
For those of you still waiting for a beta invite, know that we're working through our list at a quick pace, and we'll get to you just as soon as we can. And always remember, you can jump up on the list by sending us a photo of you or something you own in a tinfoil hat. :)
